Legal Apprenticeship Funding
Funding is available to help working professionals gain recognised conveyancing qualifications. Under this government-backed initiative, 95% of the training cost is funded by the Department for Education, meaning your firm only pays 5%. For co-funded programmes, this amounts to just £500+VAT for the Level 4 diploma based on the full qualification value of £10,000 and £900+VAT for the Level 6 diploma based on the full qualification value of £18,000. As an approved training provider, Datalaw can access this funding on your behalf to deliver high-quality legal training to your team.

Frequently Asked Questions
During my apprenticeship, will I have a full-time job and be required to study on my own time?
Yes, you’ll have a full-time role while completing your Conveyancing Apprenticeship, but at least 20% of your working hours will be dedicated to study and training. You won’t be expected to do all your studying in your own time, although some apprentices choose to do extra learning outside of work to reinforce their knowledge.
Is a Conveyancing Apprenticeship a simpler alternative than full-time university study?
Not necessarily simpler, just a different route. A Conveyancing Apprenticeship combines practical work experience with structured learning, allowing you to earn while you train. It’s ideal for those who prefer hands-on learning over full-time academic study and want to build a career in law without going to university.
What is the typical starting pay for an apprentice?
Salaries can vary depending on experience and location. As a guide, Conveyancing Technicians typically earn between £16,000 and £24,000. Once qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer, salaries usually start around £20,000 and can exceed £50,000 for those with significant experience.
What is included in the Conveyancing Apprenticeship?
The Conveyancing Apprenticeship combines flexible online learning with personalised support, including live group workshops and one-to-one Zoom sessions with your tutor. You’ll build practical knowledge in key legal areas while focusing on conveyancing-specific skills. Throughout the programme, you’ll apply what you learn directly in the workplace, giving you the experience and expertise needed to qualify as a licensed conveyancer.
What further assistance is offered to me while I'm a conveyancing apprentice?
As a conveyancing apprentice, you’ll receive ongoing support throughout your training. This includes access to a dedicated Progress Tutor, one-to-one mentoring sessions, regular check-ins, and feedback on your work. You’ll also benefit from online resources, group workshops, and a structured learning platform to help you stay on track. Our goal is to ensure you have the guidance and tools needed to succeed both academically and in the workplace.
What happens once I've finished my Conveyancing Apprenticeship?
Once you complete your Level 4 and Level 6 Conveyancing Apprenticeship, you’ll be fully qualified to apply for your licence and practise as a Licensed Conveyancer. You’ll be able to handle client matters independently, work on complex property transactions, and even progress into senior or specialist roles within a law firm or conveyancing practice.
