How we support you

Supported at every step.

The programme is built for people completely new to law. From day one you have a Progress Tutor, structured feedback and a clear path to the end-point assessment.

A dedicated Progress Tutor

The same person from onboarding through to end-point assessment. One-to-one tutorials every 12 weeks.

Live learning

Face-to-face one-to-one sessions with an expert tutor, plus live group workshops with your cohort. Never a recording playing at you. Real conversations, real questions answered on the spot.

The Datalaw Learning Platform

All your workshop recordings, module notes and portfolio in one place. Accessible for 12 months after you qualify.

Portfolio review before EPA

In the final months we work with you and your line manager to make sure your evidence meets every standard.

Best-practice legal training

Every workshop, tutorial and assignment is grounded in current SRA and CILEx best practice. How good firms actually run files today. You leave modelling how senior fee-earners work, not textbook theory.

Off-the-job training built in

Off-the-job training hours are tracked and evidenced for you against your standard's minimum. Live workshops, private tutorials, self-study and reflection all count. No spreadsheets to keep, no last-minute scramble at EPA.

I'm learning on the job while earning. I wouldn't have been able to gain this legal experience and network with as many solicitors any other way.

Frequently asked

Everything applicants ask us.

How does work and study fit together?

Most of your time is spent doing the day job at your firm; the rest is structured learning that counts toward your standard's minimum off-the-job hours. Most apprentices carve out roughly one day a week for study, but many firms flex it around case load. Study is entirely online, so no commuting to a training centre.

Is a Level 3 apprenticeship easier than a university degree?

Not necessarily. It's a genuine Level 3 qualification (equivalent to A-Level) and requires resilience, organisation and self-discipline. What's different is that you're proving yourself on real matters as you learn. Most apprentices find that far more motivating than exam-hall theory.

What's the typical starting salary?

That's set by each employer, not by us. As a rough guide, most paralegal apprentice roles advertise between £18,500 and £22,000 in year one, rising when you qualify. Because you're on the firm's payroll from day one, you're earning a full salary throughout.

How does the assessment work?

You'll complete all six group workshops and six one-to-one modules, building a portfolio of evidence from your real work throughout. In the final months you sit an end-point assessment call with an external assessor. Pass and you receive your Level 3 Paralegal Diploma and are registered as a practising paralegal.

What support do I get through the programme?

A dedicated Progress Tutor, weekly written feedback on your work, one-to-one tutorials every 12 weeks, portfolio coaching before EPA and unlimited access to the Datalaw learning platform. Your Progress Tutor also liaises with your line manager to make sure your on-the-job experience matches what the standard expects.

What happens after I qualify?

You become a qualified paralegal. Fee-earning at Grade D. And are registered as a practising paralegal. Many of our graduates progress onto our Level 6 CILEx (Chartered Legal Executive) or Level 7 Solicitor Apprenticeship routes to keep advancing.

How It Works

Four steps from day one to qualified.

01

You get hired, we get you funded

You join a firm on their payroll. As a government-registered provider, we draw down the funding so there's nothing for you to pay.

02

Learn online, around your work

Live group workshops and one-to-one tutorials fit around your working week. Your dedicated progress tutor keeps you on track with a review every 12 weeks.

03

Apply it on real matters

Everything you study goes straight into your day job. Client care, drafting, research and file management on live cases.

04

Qualify and start fee-earning

Complete your portfolio and end-point assessment to earn your Level 3 Paralegal Diploma, and charge fee-earning at Grade D from day one.
