What is the will and probate?

The Level 4 wills and probate apprenticeship trains you as a specialist in inheritance and estate matters.

Sensitive, long-term relationships with clients across generations — a rewarding specialism in a growing sector.

What you'll do

Take instructions and draft wills, including complex ones with tax considerations.

Administer estates from grant of probate to distribution.

Advise on trusts, powers of attorney and Court of Protection matters.

Handle sensitive client conversations around bereavement.

Foundations

Succession, tax and trust law fundamentals.

Real files under supervision

Take ownership of will drafting and estate administration.

EPA + qualification

Entry requirements

Requirements are set by each firm, but most look for:

Grade 4/C or above in GCSE English & Maths
Strong client-care instincts
UK/Irish/settled status (for funding)
Right to work in England for the duration
